“He aha te mea nui o te ao. He tāngata, he tāngata, he tāngata”
To build connected and thriving communities through programmes that foster whanaungatanga, inspire participation, and create opportunities for people to prosper together.
Supporting communities to grow, thrive, and achieve long-term wellbeing together.
Encouraging people to believe in their potential and lead positive change.
Building strong relationships, connection, and belonging within communities.
Before Prospire Community Trust was established, the mahi began with the founding of the LU Parents Society at Lincoln University at the start of 2022. The initiative emerged from an identified gap and growing trend of students returning to study while also navigating parenting responsibilities. The club grew into an active and diverse community, offering social events, fitness classes, educational initiatives, and wider wellbeing activities that supported connection and belonging among students. The group also participated in university and community events such as LU Community Day, CultureFest, and the Santa Parade, contributing through visible and meaningful engagement. After three successful years of building strong participation and community connection, the group expanded its focus beyond the university into the wider Christchurch community, leading to the establishment of Prospire Community Trust.
The LU Parents Society was awarded Best New Club, and several executive members later received LU Gold Awards in recognition of their service and contribution. From the outset, the club demonstrated strong engagement across multiple spaces. Prospire Community Trust continues this mahi, carrying forward the same spirit of connection, participation, and community into broader programmes, events, and initiatives across Christchurch.
